Horace Mann donating up to $25,000 in funding to help Redding, California, area schools

Prior to the Carr Fire, area school districts were preparing to go back to school. The fires left many homeless and neighborhoods vacated, making this year's back-to-school season a special challenge for area educators as they strive to help those affected. Let's rally to start the healing and show our support.

Horace Mann and are rallying to support these teachers and schools by encouraging donors across the nation to help bring the healing and repair to Redding, California. Starting Sept. 1, 2018, Horace Mann will offer a $25,000 Redding Relief Match Campaign. During this campaign, Horace Mann will match every donation, up to $25,000, to replace items that were damaged, create a new learning environment, as well as provide school supplies or clothing.

Agent Blake Danielson will host workshops in affected schools to assist educators in posting projects to best serve their needs. If you have an existing project, submit the number so it can be considered for funding, or get started creating a project now.

“We know some educators have been devastated by the Carr wildfire, and this is just one small way we can help. We know it takes a lot of time and money to get things ready to return to school during a normal year, and this year some educators have lost their homes,” said Danielson. “The workshops will help educators determine what they need the most, and give them an opportunity to ask communities nationwide to help.”

Schools or educators interested in finding out more about the workshops should contact Blake at 530-892-8842 or You can also find out more about how to qualify for the match campaign here.
